An Amazing First Week at CVLA!

Our first week of school was a tremendous success thanks to the dedication of our outstanding staff and the positive efforts of our students. From the moment students arrived, our teachers created welcoming, structured, and supportive classrooms. They clearly communicated expectations, guided students through new routines, and provided engaging learning activities that helped everyone begin the year with confidence and purpose.
Our students also deserve special recognition. They demonstrated respect, responsibility, and persistence by following school and classroom expectations, completing assigned tasks, participating in learning, and helping maintain a safe and positive environment. Their willingness to engage, cooperate, and support one another established a strong foundation for the weeks ahead.
This successful start reflects CVLA’s continued commitment to student achievement, school safety, high expectations, and a culture of continuous improvement. Through strong relationships, consistent routines, meaningful instruction, and collaboration among students and staff, we are creating an environment in which every student can grow academically, socially, and personally.
We are proud of the way our entire CVLA community came together during the first week. Thank you to our teachers and staff for their leadership and dedication, and congratulations to our students for beginning the year so successfully. We look forward to building on this momentum throughout the school year!

Important Reminders

Regular attendance is essential to your student’s academic success. Parents and guardians, please contact the school to report and clear all absences as soon as possible.
Students must arrive on time and be ready to begin school at 8:30 a.m. Consistent and punctual attendance helps students remain engaged, complete their assignments, and make steady academic progress.
If your student will be absent for more than three consecutive days, please notify the Transportation Department or our school secretary. This communication is necessary to prevent your student from being removed from the school bus transportation roster.
Thank you for helping us support consistent attendance, safe transportation, and student success.

Academic Corner: ESA Testing

All CVLA students participated in the first ESA assessment of the school year. This assessment provides teachers with valuable information about each student’s current academic skills, strengths, and areas in which additional support may be needed.
The results help our staff make informed instructional decisions, personalize learning, and monitor student progress. Students will take the ESA assessment two more times during the school year. Comparing the three sets of results will allow teachers, students, and families to see academic growth over time and determine whether instructional supports are meeting students’ needs.
We are proud of our students for taking the assessment seriously and doing their best. Their participation supports our schoolwide commitment to academic growth, data-informed instruction, and continuous improvement.
